PM MODI: LISTEN TO THE TICKING CLOCK

Modi and BJP can ill afford to continue to bask in glory of electoral victory that installed them in government with majority followed by electoral gains in subsequent elections to several state assemblies. In some, BJP emerged with clear majority; in some with near majority and in J&K with enough strength to become a major player in government there. But electoral victories are ephemeral. Today's victor can vanquish tomorrow or day after if hopes and aspirations vested in the victor beginning to look and felt like illusion.  Modi steered the campaign with promise of governance and development and growth for all. People reposed their trust in him, gave BJP enough seats to form a single party government.  That was a landmark judgement delivered by people of India. The day Modi took over as Prime Minister and formed the BJP government, the clock had started ticking with the next judgement day 5 years hence.  

I hope Modi can hear the clock ticking.  The immediate thing he needs to do is to pull reign tighter on rogue elements in the BJP and its affiliates. His success in Gujarat, which brought laurels to him as great administrator and catapulted him to 7 Race Course Road, was largely due to his single focus on development and, equally importantly, due to the way in which he kept extreme right elements in tight leash.  

The same rogue elements are rearing their ugly heads again.  We see development debate fading away  in the din of communal rhetoric they have brought back in the center stage. There continuing polarizing diatribes do not augur well for India's integrity.  The continuing silence of Modi has emboldened them further.  I hope it is not part of a larger game plan by BJP to retain power by polarizing society. Because,if it is,they are doing disservice to the nation because when majority try to trample and throttle  minorities, the result is always destruction. We don't have to look further then across border for its proof. 

I urge Modi to quell the communal nonsense being perpetrated by lunatics withing BJP and its extended organisations.  Please don't disappointment people of India, listen to the ticking clock.
